Preparing Media Messengers
We combine media education with biblical study, worship and prayer, and practical discipleship in small group settings. Through this unique training model, students receive a solid biblical and storytelling foundation that equips them to use their skills to communicate the message of Jesus in a wide variety of settings.
Our two- and four-year Forerunner Media Institute (FMI) programs aim to foster creative and technically equipped messengers who are rooted in a deep understanding of Scripture, intimacy with Jesus, and the father heart of God, and who are provoked to challenge and influence culture through visual storytelling.

Some of the content covered will be producing, directing, editing, digital cinematography, lighting, content distribution, and social media. FMI is a hands-on program, learning technical, creative, and organizational aspects of this craft. Students will be working on team projects as well as their own unique projects throughout their media education, and will receive hands-on mentoring in the process. The opportunity to participate in multiple missions trips is included in the program.
-
We encourage students to apply a month or more in advance in order for the school to have time to process applications.
-
Yes, students will need to facilitate homework assignments in both theology classes and FMI course work. Some students have used iPads because of financial challenges, and while they can make due with that, they are more limiting.
-
As with all IHOPU programs, housing, food, and other supplies are not included in tuition.
-
Upon acceptance into the program, students receive a link connecting them with other students for housing needs.
-
It makes getting to classes and Prayer Room easier for students if they have their own transportation, however this is not a requirement.
